My Skincare Must-haves

Skin care has always been a routine for me. Wash you face when you wake up, take your makeup off at night, wash your face before you go to sleep, don’t touch your face without washing your hands, drink a lot of water and change your sheets often. It was something I knew I always had to do, but never got excited about. Sometime last year, I decided I wanted to get excited about skin care and from that point on I’ve been obsessed- constantly trying new products, doing DIY  masks, and reading endless pages of reviews. While I do think it’s important to figure out the products, and routine that’s right for you, below are six things I can’t live without.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel is a natural astringent that has countless benefits for your skin. Some of its most important qualities are its ability to fight acne, reduce skin aging, erase dark spots, and tighten skin. My personal favorite is its ability to reduce puffy eyes, which is something I wake up with every morning. I love Thayers Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Verathe addition of Rose Petals and Aloe Vera make the advantages endless. I apply this as a toner twice a day after washing my face.

Cetaphil was the first face washes I’ve ever used, and its by far the best. Its gentle but gets the job done; it cleanses my oily skin without stripping it down and making me feel dry. Cetaphil is so great even Pharell mentioned it as a must-have… and who doesn’t want to have skin like Pharell???? Occasionally I do use other skin cleaners like Milky Jelly Cleanser, but Cetaphil will always be my go-to.

Super Glow by Glossier

Let me start by saying I haven’t meet a Glossier product I don’t like. Their products are all literally magic in a bottle, but Super Glow deserves its own shout-out. Super Glow is a serum does exactly what the name implies, give you super glowy skin. With Vitamin C as its active ingredient, it makes dark spots vanish. After using it everyday (once a day), I can definitely see my skin getting brighter.

Glam-Glow Mud Masks

GlamGlow’s SUPERMUD clearing treatment and YOUTHMUD  Tinglexfoliate treatment are my holy grails. SUPERMUD is great for detoxing your skin, while YOUTHMUD tightens your skin while keeping it hydrated. Though expensive they are worth every penny, as they yield instant results. I mask once a week, alternating between the two. I think its super important to mask at least once a week to give your skin what it needs, whether hydration or a deep cleanse.

Cleansing Spinbrush

Cleansing brushes are amazing. I love mine and I’m not sure how I ever washed my face without it. They are amazing at opening pores and stoping breakouts before they happen. The bristles of the brush penetrate deep into your pores ensuring a great cleanse every time. Its also an added bonus that I don’t have to get my hands wet in the morning anymore!

Consistency is by far the most important skin tip I can give. No matter what you do, make a routine of it. Clear skin is a lifelong process. Don’t be afraid to try new products, but if something works definitely stick to it. No matter what you do, make sure you cleanse, correct, hydrate, and protect your skin everyday.

What are your must-haves? Drop them in the comments so that I can try!

  1. My number one must have is Sunday Riley’s Good Genes. Two words: the. shit. It’s worth the money.

Second must have is Pixi Glow Tonic toner.

Last but not least, Murad Rapid age spot and pigment lightening serum.
